In a legal career that now has expanded over 35 years, Stephen H. Myers has combined a special expertise in taxation and business transactions with extensive experience in litigation and trial advocacy to offer Louisiana business clients a complement of capabilities and skills that few individual attorneys can match.

Mr. Myers began his legal career in 1979 in Washington, D.C. as an attorney- advisor to Judge Edward S. Smith, United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C. From 1981-1983 Mr. Myers worked as an attorney at the United States Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. In 1983 Mr. Myers relocated to Louisiana and became a member of the Louisiana State Bar. He then began his career as both a counselor and advocate for Louisiana businesses – many of which have been engaged in the petroleum and energy industries.  Besides tax, Mr. Myers has litigated a large number of personal injury cases, wage claims, defamation and insurance policy disputes. Over his career, he has litigated approximately 170 jury trials and an equal number of bench trials.  Additional administrative experience also includes administrative trials in the United States Tax Court and as an appointed Louisiana State Police Commissioner who regulates and tries State Police Officers who have committed a variety of infractions.

Mr. Myers has represented corporate clients on drafting sales and use tax legislation. He has also consummated international business transactions and extraterritorial litigation; he has also handled corporate reorganizations and prosecution and defense of numerous corporate or commercial claims.

Mr. Myers is licensed to practice law in Louisiana, Maryland and Washington DC. Additionally, he also practices in Texas, New York, and Mississippi.
